  3. Find the Employment Type dropdown
  4. Select the appropriate badge

How badges appear

Badges are displayed as small colored labels on the person's card in the chart. They're visible at all zoom levels and appear in exports (both PNG and PDF).

Use cases

Hiring planning

Mark open positions as Vacant to visualize your hiring needs. This makes it easy to see gaps in your organization and communicate hiring priorities to leadership.

Workforce composition

When presenting your org chart to executives or board members, badges instantly communicate the composition of your team — how many contractors you rely on, where interns are placed, and which advisory roles exist.

Compliance and documentation

For HR teams, badges help document the employment classification of every person in the organization, which can be important for compliance and budgeting purposes.

Pro feature: Employment badges are available on the Pro plan ($49/year or $99 lifetime). Upgrade to Pro to unlock this feature.
