Features

Sub-canvases let you break large org charts into manageable, linked sections. A department head's card can link to a separate canvas showing their full team breakdown.

Creating a sub-canvas

1. Select a node on your org chart (typically a department head or team lead)
2. Open the edit panel
3. Click Create Sub-Canvas
4. A new canvas is created and linked to that node
5. The node shows a small sub-canvas icon indicating a linked canvas exists

Navigating between canvases

Click the sub-canvas icon on any linked node to navigate to its sub-canvas. Use the breadcrumb trail at the top to navigate back to the parent canvas.

When to use sub-canvases

• Large organizations — Keep the top-level chart clean by moving departments into sub-canvases
• Detailed team views — Show individual contributors without cluttering the executive view
• Regional breakdowns — Link regional offices to their own detailed canvases

Deleting a sub-canvas

To unlink a sub-canvas, select the node and remove the link from the edit panel. The sub-canvas itself remains in your workspace and can be deleted separately if needed.
